We had a great year at Field Grey. We launched some great projects that we’re very proud of and we worked with some wonderful people. Members of the Field Grey team have picked out their favourite or defining project from 2014. We hope you like, and we look forward to sharing more work and collaborating with more wonderful people this year!
D&D London
I think one of the most satisfying projects last year was with D&D group, where we have seen our bespoke waistcoat designs launch over a number of venues. The great thing about bespoke uniform is that we can add those special elements like contrast linings, buttons, fabrics and buckles. We always use quality buttons in our products and use Corozo buttons instead of polyester which means over its lifetime the colour doesn’t fade. It’s subtle but makes an enormous difference to the finished product and the environment.
We look forward to seeing more this year!

Pennethorne’s
I really enjoyed the Pennethorne‘s project, a new coffee bar at Somerset House. We worked closely with the interior designers to ensure our designs and sources were in keeping with their designs. As a history fanatic, I loved the overall outcome of the bespoke apron we manufactured with the Victorian voluminous effect. The staff loved them and kept complimenting them on the launch night. The project also included sourcing vintage cravats and Victorian brooches within budget.
It was a project we delivered fast that included a lot of work, but we received some really good feedback!

Hotel Football
We were approached by Hotel Football to come up with design ideas for the new hotel in Manchester. We integrated digital prints in a playful way. Football pitches and the chevrons seen on football boots were used for dresses, and two coloured tailoring for the menswear. The hotel features a supporter club for Manchester United, so red details such as socks and handkerchiefs were added to be used on match days!
It was a great project to work on as it had plenty of interesting features to play with and it’s a shame it wasn’t realised!

The Keepers Lounge Bar & Kitchen at Novotel Hotels Tower Bridge
The project that I have particularly enjoyed was a project with Novotel Hotels. The Keepers Lounge Bar & Kitchen was a brand new concept launched at the Novotel Hotels Tower Bridge Venue earlier this year. We designed a honeycomb print inspired by their brand concept and mixed this with off-the-peg shirts and printed t-shirts using the company’s logo.
Being involved in a project from start to finish and seeing the design develop as well as the brand was a great experience!
