This weekend Field Grey popped down to the Print House, Stratford, to sample brunch and lunch and see the staff’s uniform.
The Print House (formerly Dane’s Yard) is a unique bar and restaurant situated on the bank of the Three Mills Wall river, a stone’s throw from the glorious and recently renovated Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Canal side, the venue is enormous, with a vast outdoor area for summer barbecues, events and general sunshine boozing. The Strand East Tower sits proudly on its terrace, a fantastic (and phallic) sculpture that is a symbol of the area’s regeneration. The Print House’s building – an old printing warehouse from where the restaurant gets its name – is visually stunning inside, refurbished with modernist touches but retaining the architectural significance of the structure.
The venue is the perfect spot for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinking. The menu covers British classics with a modern twist, from stilton-topped burgers to pork belly and their Sunday roasts are to die for. A strong selection of wines compliments the menu.
They also host a range of eclectic events, from open mic nights to pub quizzes – something for everyone!
Field Grey assisted with the production of the Print House’s bold black aprons, worn by staff at the venture. They’re black with a modernist design on the front, featuring the Print House’s bold logo and custom typeface. Straps feature thick fasteners, and Hannah modelled one for us – doesn’t she look great teaming it with a breton tee?
